Thanks so much for this tutorial! I never knew about the adjustment layer feature. :points to icon: that's what I got. Ish. I played around a bit with several adjustment layers ant a texture, too...

i don't get how to make a new layout or take away the piece out to get the white strip in the middle.

Its supposed to say "new layer" sorry for the typo. You just click the new layer button, or layer -> new layer. And you don't take out anything to get the white strip in. On the new layer, you select where you want the white strip to be and then you fill it with white. That's it.
